Welcome To Arts Centre, Cafe & Riding Centre

Chris Stu Arts.

We are located on the Isle of Skye, the largest of the Scottish Inner Hebrides, half way between the island's “capital” Portree and the home of the Clan McLeod in Dunvegan at a wee place called Suladale. We are co-located with the The Isle of Skye Trekking Centre and collectively we are known as the Isle of Skye Riding and Arts Centre. This is the only centre offering horse trekking on the Isle along with livery and lessons combined with Isle of Skye produced Arts.

The creative founders Christine, Stuart and Gordon are dedicated to the philosophy of providing quality, authentic, unique, handmade products all of which are made in Scotland with the bulk of them made here on the Isle of Skye by the founders of Christu Arts at a price which is designed to suit the family budget.

The beautiful scenery, the uniqueness of the environment, the history of the area as well as the wealth of stories from the long term residents of the Isle form the backdrop and inspiration for all of our work. Please drop by. You will be certain of a warm greeting and helpful, informed service.

Chris Stu Arts' Ceramics division, GSC Studio, supplies all of the ceramics you will find in our retail store as well as here in our virtual shop. The cups, mugs, pots,   vases, jugs, goblets, oil burners quaichs, teapots and many more items are hand thrown not a small stones throw from the shop's front door. While visiting our location you are encouraged to walk across the car park and visit Gordon in his studio and see how the magic happens!

Our Artwork, ranging from Watercolours and Acrylics to pencil drawings, are all inspired from the scenes, history, legends, people and places to be found in this fascinating corner of the universe. All artwork is mounted and can be framed upon request.

Our Knitwear has a strong foundation in traditional styles while injecting unique design aspects brought about by the understanding of the need to complement the functional with up todate fashion trends. When we say it is handmade we really mean it. None of our knitwear have ever seen a machine in their creation.
